11月20日晚间，《河南日报》主办的《顶端新闻》发表由签约作者撰写的文章《比疫情更可怕的是大量的人失业，破产》。文章总结了疫情期间小区、物业的权利滥用，老百姓的收入降低、破产等问题，引发巨大反响。该文在微博、微信等社交平台疯传。或许文章不符合官方的主旋律，很快被当局全网封杀。
作者在文章的开头引用新疆某小区书记的一句“我让你阴就阴，我让你阳就阳”，质疑服务老百姓的小区和物业，在疫情期间竟然成为基层“主宰者”。作者在文中质疑小区为何作威作福，不执行国家政策。
针对日前大陆 “双11” 购物节的销量惨淡（销售额比以往同期下降7成，是该购物节举办14年以来最低点）。文章指出，老百姓口袋里没了钱，要如何消费；没有消费，企业、商店如何支撑？另外，老百姓没有了收入，但房贷、车贷却未曾减少，依然要还。据悉，中国有接近5成的家庭背负着房贷压力，大部分家庭只能“寅吃卯粮”，这样下去唯一的出路就是破产。
作者在文章中提出3个疑问，质疑为何到了现今，中国仍然无法解封。
一、为何不将花在疫情防控上的资金，用来建立更完善的医疗系统？“低死亡、高传播”开放也许会导致大量感染者，会导致医疗挤兑。但以郑州计算，一个月核酸检测费用就花费3.6亿元（人民币，下同）以上。排名前十的核算机构上半年净利润就超过150亿元。为何不能用这些钱来建更多的医院？医疗系统你在干嘛呢？
二、新冠疫情听谁的？疫情三年以来高调宣传“新冠会死人，死很多人。”但到今年，新冠的高传染性使现有的防疫手段显得捉襟见肘，低致命性则令极端的防疫手段得不偿失。对比世界多数国家，中国仍在“苦苦挣扎”。那么疫情防疫听领导的还是听专家的？是科学问题还是政治问题？
三、把下雨的权利交给卖伞的人，雨何时才能停？文章以“英国统治印度时期要求每家每月上交一条眼镜蛇来防止毒蛇伤人，演变成家家户户养蛇应对，导致印度到处都是眼镜蛇”的故事举例，质疑是否是资本不愿让疫情结束？
作者在文章中探讨：出路在哪里
文章提出，当下要让有良知的医学专家发生以破除公众对新冠的恐惧。让科学和科学家站到舆论场中心。官方不应将他们消声雪藏，近日张宏文医生重返舆论场就开了个好头。张宏文在上海国际生物医药产业周会议上表示，走出疫情靠得是科技，生物医药的支撑。
文章还称，防疫要与政治脱钩，在宣传上降调、下台阶，不要用话语将自己困住；要调整官员考核，保证基层执行防控政策到位；将投入到核酸检测和防控上的资源，转移到提升医疗硬件和管理上；不再管控普通的感冒药、退烧药，不要把简单的问题复杂化。
文章引用新加坡总理李显龙的话“人类社会从未以‘死人最少’作为绝对的生存策略。”以此论证“政府要做的是要保障人民群众的经济和医疗”。
文中称，疫情三年，不要再说“坚持坚持”，没有“铁饭碗”的民众是坚持不下去的。一定要把生活通道、生命通道、仁心通道打开；发展才能解决一切问题。”
文章引起民众共鸣，大量网友在微博、微信等大陆社交平台转发，同时讲述自己在疫情期间的亲身经历，大部分相当荒诞。
目前当局已启动维稳，该文被删除，相关网页显示“接相关投诉，此内容因违规无法查看”。
