得天獨厚的Port Phillip Bay，海洋資源非常豐富，大海為海灣帶來大量美味的微生物，配合寧靜清澈的海水，最適合養殖青口，當地占全國六成青口產量；每年1月份，當地人就在陽光普照的夏季大搞青口節，好好地慶祝大海帶來的恩典。
青口節（Portarlington Mussel Festival）至今舉辦了14屆，自2007年起，每屆都在Portarlington的海邊公園舉行。原本只是街坊與漁民的聯誼活動，分享捕撈的青口，後來口碑傳到街知巷聞，之後愈搞愈大愈多元化，每年都吸引超三萬人來到這個海濱小鎮，品嘗肥美青口。
今年的青口節將於1月14日星期六舉行，屆時將有200多個攤檔呈獻力作，除了著名的海鮮之外，還有市場攤位、品酒會、老爺車展覽、烹飪示範和娛樂活動等，讓來自維州各地的市民品味美食，享受合家歡聚的周末。
在風景如畫的Portarlington海灘的背景下，這個為期一天的節日是今年夏天探索貝拉林半島的最佳理由。在一整天中，當地音樂家將占據多個舞台，有來自Soul Sister Swing、Jimi Hocking、Blue Wax Trio、Trojan等人的表演，還有專為兒童而設的節目，老少皆宜。
遊客可以悠然地在現場攤檔點選喜歡的煮法、深愛的醬汁，配搭地道出產佳釀，之後前往碼頭，看看正在運作的漁船將新鮮撈獲的青口送到碼頭，然後買一些新鮮的青口帶回家。
需要注意的是，這個慶典只有一天給公眾參與，為免高峰期太擁擠，很多人都選擇早點入場。菲利普港渡輪公司推出的VIP渡輪青口套餐能讓你一天的行程更加完美。他們將直接從Docklands航行至Portarlington碼頭，把你送到活動中心。VIP渡輪青口套餐包括從Docklands出發的往返票和進入活動的快車，因此您可以避開交通和人群。也有從Geelong出發的VIP渡輪套餐。全天將有多條航線，因此你可以根據自己的喜好，選擇在節日裡停留時間長短。
除了乘船，您也可以選擇從車站Southern Cross坐火車前往Geelong車站，但要花較多時間，火車車程約90分鐘，再轉約40分鐘公交車；又或者來一場自駕游，按自己喜歡的節奏在這悠閒小鎮遊蕩，順道吃盡以不同方式烹飪的美味青口！
