悉尼動力博物館（Powerhouse Museum）已有125年歷史，館內收藏品約40萬件，現在是新州知名的旅遊景點。
館內收藏的珍寶五花八門，有裝飾藝術、科學、通訊設備、交通工具、服飾、家具、電腦技術、航天工程技術及蒸汽機等，而且有些是獨一無二的！包括可以追溯至1785年的全球最古老的旋轉蒸汽機、建造於1854年的新州第一號蒸汽機車。如果你愛好歷史、藝術、科學，抑或只是想打卡放鬆，都可以來悉尼動力博物館轉一轉，無需買票！
最近，位於市區Ultimo的場館宣布了改造設計方案，耗資5億澳元，將以創新的展覽和教育空間來紀念歷史。改造概念由澳大利亞團隊Architectus、Durbach Block Jaggers Architects、Tyrrell Studio、Youssofzay + Hart、Akira Isogawa、Yerrabingin、Finding Infinity和Arup設計。改造後的Powerhouse Ultimo將側重於時尚。
Ultimo場館的新設計包含擴大展覽空間，建設用於沉浸式展覽和學習項目的國際博物館標準畫廊。連接博物館和Goods Line的新空間將成為一個重要的新公共廣場，增加公共空間，方便市民戶外活動。
那麼，新改造的博物館將於何時完工呢？ 目前尚不明確，施工開始和竣工時間取決於規劃、設計和採購進程。
目前西區Parramatta也在建一間新動力博物館。與側重時尚的Ultimo不同，Powerhouse Parramatta將主要側重於科學和技術。
新南威爾士藝術館（Art Gallery of NSW）悉尼現代藝術館（Sydney Modern）也在擴建，看來悉尼正在追趕文化之都墨爾本的道路上更進一步了呢！

沒去過悉尼動力博物館的朋友們可能覺得裡面太過文藝或高科技，沒什麼可看的，然而其實並非如此！
悉尼動力博物館的展品很具趣味性，因此受到孩童和年輕人青睞。除聖誕節外全年開放，在公共假期和學校假期時還會延長開館的時間。
遊客可以看到早期的海灘時髦風情、移民的航行遊記、悉尼人如何在其後院建造出世界上速度最快的船、罪犯在船上的生活情形，同時亦可以了解為何衝浪板越變越短，或者在這裡玩一把高科技電腦遊戲、在博物館戲院看一場電影。

Zampatti Powerhouse
Zampatti Powerhouse是澳大利亞著名設計師、商業領袖、慈善家Carla Zampatti, AC, OMRI（1938-2021）的首次回顧展，訪客可以一覽Zampatti從創業到最新作品的職業生涯。
1965年，Zampatti建立了悉尼時裝屋，至今仍受女性歡迎。在超過五十年的時間裡，她在巨大的變化中茁壯成長，同時完善了其設計理念——簡單、低調和力量。
該大型展覽展出100套服裝，包括來自Zampatti遺產的個人物品、時裝檔案、知名女性衣櫥以及數百名公眾響應的成果。這些服裝摺射出Zampatti風格的演變，20世紀60年代和70年代時年輕充滿活力，晚年則是輕鬆卻複雜。

Powerhouse Late
Powerhouse Late是一系列免費的下班後休閒活動，包括現場音樂表演、電影放映、研討會、講座和展覽。時間是每星期四下午5點至9點（2023年1月26日重新開放）。
Unpopular
Unpopular借鑑了音樂推廣人、唱片公司創始人和企業家Stephen ‘Pav’ Pavlovic的檔案，向觀眾介紹1990年代另類音樂的幕後。
從Pav的大量收藏中可以看到200多件展品，包括現場表演的錄像、你可能從未聽過的音樂和現場錄音、照片、原始圖形藝術、海報和雜誌。
在展覽的同時，動力博物館還將推出由Sophie Howarth主持的音樂攝影大師班、由設計師Ben Brown和Paul Curtis主持的模擬藝術研討會以及音樂紀錄片項目。
