11月17日，澳洲老年护理部长韦尔斯（Anika Wells）宣布，政府计划于2023年1月1日起，将居家养老服务方案中的护理管理费上限设定为20%，方案管理费的上限为15%。
同时，将禁止提供商收取客户退出计划或更换服务提供商的费用，并禁止单独收取中介费和分包费。
韦尔斯表示，有超过3.7万人将因此受益，不会因更换服务提供商或退出该计划付任何费用。
格拉坦研究所（Grattan Institute）2021年的一份报告发现，大约25%的家庭护理费用被用于行政和管理费，有些甚至可能高达 50%。
韦尔斯说：“行政和管理费用的减少意味着方案中更多的钱将用在住家附近的援助、个人和临床护理、辅助设备，及其他有助于保证老人在家中安全的服务等方面。”
新收费上限将于2023年1月1日生效。韦尔斯表示，在此之前，养老服务提供商必须审核自己当前的收费标准，与客户讨论定价变化，并获得客户对价格变化的知情同意。
