中华民国侨委会徐佳青副委员长纽澳之行，风尘仆仆，继拜访雪梨后，11月11日抵达布里斯本，受到侨胞热烈欢迎。
12日下午，徐佳青副委员长参加昆士兰台湾中心举办的布里斯本地区侨务座谈会。昆士兰侨务荣誉职人员、侨团负责人及侨商代表四十馀人出席。
首先由昆士兰台湾中心欧阳群主任致欢迎词，欢迎徐佳青副委员长到布里斯本地区来访问。侨务委员陈秋燕女士特别介绍徐副委员长是一位重视人权与公益的长官，她活泼又有亲和力，全球广结善缘。罗富龄委员也致词欢迎她的到来。
驻布里斯本台北经济文化办事处处长陶令文说：“这是我到任以来，台湾来访层级最高的官员。”
昆士兰州议员 James Martin特别赶来参加会议，颁发感谢状给徐副委员长，感谢她支持昆士兰台侨社区及促进台澳之间的友谊所作的贡献与成就。徐副委员长也以镶有台湾logo纪念品回送。
会议上，徐佳青副委员长向昆士兰侨界新续聘荣誉职人员颁发聘书，并给天府集团黄彦文总经理颁发2022年全球青商潜力之星奖牌。全球只有两位获得此奖，天府黄总经理是其中之一。
徐副委员长致词时，首先给侨胞带来好消息，她说，由于疫情三年不能回台湾，侨胞担心健保可能被取消的问题，经过与各部会沟通，健保可以延长到明年6月底以前办理。
布里斯本侨胞大约有四万人左右，她希望大家可以多多利用侨胞服务手册及台商服务手册。
近年来台湾与澳洲的关系持续升温，徐副委员长鼓励侨胞走出来，积极参与主流社会的活动，以及多族裔间的互相连结，把台湾人的友善、包容、多元文化的特点展现出来，结交更多的朋友。最后听取侨胞的建言，她表示回去后将逐步的落实。
晚间，昆士兰侨界在W Hotel的天屋日本料理举办欢迎晚宴，办事处陶令文处长细数昆士兰侨界对澳洲社区的贡献，他说，疫情爆发后，侨胞捐便当慰劳医院医护人员的辛苦；今年三月昆州水灾，侨胞立即发起募款活动，短短三个星期募得十万多澳币，发挥人饥己饥、人溺己溺的精神，协助州政府的重建工作。每年布里斯本市政府的慈善捐款，台侨的乐善好施，也获得澳洲人的另眼看待。
徐副委长表示，我看到布里斯本的侨胞从二月到五月不断的有公益活动，今年的双十国庆大家都也很热烈的参与，她说：“真的非常感谢当地的侨领和我们所有的侨胞共襄盛举，看到“Taiwan Can Help”的精神展现在我们澳洲社会，发挥我们共同爱心，让我们有机会来参与这个社会的一部分，我相信这是最好的国民外交。”
