悉尼西區近10天內有16家披薩店遭搶劫。1月24日晚，警方逮捕兩名嫌犯，這兩名盜賊為一對夫妻。
據《天空新聞網》報導，新州警方稱，1月14日凌晨2點30分，一男一女闖入Wentworthville鄧莫爾街（Dunmore St）附近一家披薩店。拿到現金後，這對男女逃離現場。
隨後，從1月14日到1月23日，再有15家披薩店遭賊闖入，現金被盜。
經調查，這對夫婦期間於Northmead、Wentworthville、Toongabbie、Fairfield Heights、Cecil Hills、North Parramatta、Blacktown、North Ryde、Bonnyrigg、Carnes Hill、Wetherill Park、Merrylands、Belmore、Fairfield Heights和Croydon Park地區作案。
通過對一系列事件調查和詢問，警方尋至Prospect Great Western Highway一間酒店房間。1月24日晚，警方逮捕了30歲男子Jacob Sutherland和27歲女子Aime Pham，二人被控合謀實施17次盜竊及結伴偷竊罪行，盜走近6萬澳元。
警官發現了疑似嫌犯的手機、盜取的3000澳元現金和衣物，這些物品均將送至法醫處檢查。
