小時候讀過一則專醫駝背的故事。
有個自稱專治駝背的醫生，招牌上寫着：「無論你的背駝得像彎弓那樣，或像蝦米那樣，甚或像飯鍋那樣，經我醫治，手到病除！」
有個駝背信以為真，就請他醫治。他不給駝背開藥，也不給他吃藥，只是拿來兩塊木板，把一塊木板放在地上，叫駝背趴在上面，用另一塊木板壓在駝背的身上，然後用繩索綁緊。接着，自己跳到板上，拼命亂踩一番。駝背連聲呼叫求救，他也不加理會，結果，駝背算是給弄直了，人也「嗚呼哀哉」了。
駝背的兒子找這醫生評理，醫生說：「我只管把他的駝背弄直，哪管他的死活！」
這則故事諷刺了許多企業在廣告中吹噓自己的產品可以解決很多問題，然而當顧客購買使用後不見效果，想評理卻無處訴說。例如有顧客購買減肥藥，雖然使用後輕了幾斤，但抵抗力、免疫力和自愈力也同時弱了幾分。消費者找廠家理論，廠家說，「我只管減肥，不管其他！」
現在有些醫生跟古時候那個醫生的理念是一樣的，「我只管把他的駝背弄直，哪管他的死活！」例如，有些心血管病醫生只管治心血管，至於病人吃藥吃出腎病、肝病或腸胃病，他才不管哩！
最可怕的是，如今有些人心底里也潛藏着「專醫駝背」的理念：我只管把他的駝背弄直，哪管他的死活！
