據香港01報導，12月30日，韓國外交部官員稱，韓國10個駐華使館及分支機構的380名韓國員工，有約240名職員在過去2周被新冠病毒感染，超過半數。當中未有重症患者，目前已有210多人痊癒，並重返工作崗位。
為了應對中國爆發的疫情，韓國政府於當天宣布，將於2023年1月2日至31日暫停向中國旅客發放短期簽證，出於外交和公務、必要商務及人道主義原因申請者不受影響。
另外，韓國政府還要求，在2023年1月2日至2月28日期間，所有乘坐從中國出發航班的人士均須提供登機前48小時進行的核酸檢測，或登機前24小時的抗原檢測陰性證明。旅客在抵韓國後，必須再次接受核酸檢測，並在規定場所等待檢測結果。另外，為促進入境檢疫管理，所有中國航班只可使用仁川國際機場。
