1月26日澳洲國慶日當天，多達19,000多名移民在全澳各地420多場入籍儀式中宣誓入籍，總理阿爾巴尼斯在儀式上演講迎接新公民。
阿爾巴尼斯在堪培拉Burley Griffin湖畔舉行的國家公民身份和升旗儀式上說：「今天，來自世界各地、心懷各種信仰和背景的19,000多人宣誓效忠新家園——澳洲，效忠我們的民主信仰、法律、價值觀和人民。」
「你們給我們帶來了世界。」 阿爾巴尼斯說，「你們給我們帶來了你們的動力、你們的激情、你們的才華和願望。」
他讚揚移民在澳洲發揮多方面作用，稱讚新公民帶來的許多技能是澳洲必不可少的。
新公民中，有環境研究科學家、藝術管理員、清潔工、美容師、藥劑師、會計師和天文學家，來自尼日利亞、墨西哥、泰國、巴西、英國、伊朗、埃及、馬來西亞和美國等地。
據《堪培拉時報》報導，2017年11月6日，來自埃及的Dina Tadros滿含淚水和恐懼地走上開羅的一架飛機，她當時即將離開一個歷史悠久的國度，飛向未知的澳洲。
四年後，2023年1月26日，她與澳洲總理一起站在Burley Griffin湖畔，正式成為澳洲大家庭的一員。
「這非常感人。」 她在陽光下說。
她和丈夫都是藥劑師，掌握着為澳大利亞帶來很大幫助的技能。他們之所以決定離開埃及並主動選擇移民澳大利亞，是因為認為澳洲有很多機會，而且是一個有吸引力的地方。
Tadros說：「我們正在為我們的孩子尋找一個更好的未來。」
