自去年年底開始的執法行動發現，昆州出租車和共享汽車司機有多起拒打表計算短途車費和多收費行為，已被處以600多張罰單。
昆州交通廳長Mark Bailey告訴ABC電台，執法突擊行動從去年12月開始，主要集中在12月31日前後在布里斯本和黃金海岸預訂或乘坐的車。當局共截獲2,056輛出租車、豪華轎車和網約車。
Bailey回應了去年11月初關於出租車和共享汽車司機在高峰期不使用計價器或APP且索要高額車費的報導，並承諾將打擊這種非法行為。
他說，大多數司機都沒有違法，但也有一些司機犯錯 —— 不收短程車費、多收費、不打表。
Bailey表示，交通檢查員七天24小時輪班工作，有時穿便衣，有時穿制服，自2022年12月初至今昆州共錄得613起違法行為，罰款總額約14.6萬澳元。其中對違規出租車司機開出80張罰單，對違規共享汽車司機開出524張罰單。豪華轎車和私人註冊車輛占剩餘部分。
1月14日，黃金海岸成為違規頻發區，因為Magic Millions比賽引來許多遊客。
從去年12月2日到今年1月15日，當局已對黃金海岸出租車或共享汽車31種不同的違法行為罰款，金額不等，最低575澳元。
